Our Daughter's Good Wishes Quilt: #38 and #39

100 Good Wishes Quilt

It has become an adoption tradition in the U.S. to create a "100 Good Wishes Quilt" for your adopted daughter. The tradition started in China where family and friends would give 2 swatches of fabric to the new baby. One to be used in a quilt and one to go in a memory book along with a "good wish" for the baby. Adoptive parents have started making these special quilts as a way to create some history for a child that may not have any known family background. This quilt may then be passed down for generations to come. We would love to make one for our daughter. Here is what to do if you would like to contribute to our quilt:

1. Pick out a fabric that you like or has special meaning to you and cut out 2 8" squares.

2. On a small piece of paper, write a "good wish" for our baby. Make sure to include your name on the wish.

3. Send it to us to be a part of her 100 Good Wishes Quilt!!!

#38 and #39

I went shopping for fabric for me to to give to Grace. I had a difficult time deciding :)

We love the way you play princess! You dance around with a dress and a wand and proclaim, "I'm beautiful" or "I'm a princess". I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
I pray you always know how beautiful you are, especially on the inside!!!

I chose this fabric because it's bright colors made me think of Grace.
May you always have the bright spirit and energy you have now! You are such a happy, cheerful little girl. Never lose that!
I hope you always stop to enjoy the birds's singing and know that you are capable of soaring to new heights!
