It has become an adoption tradition in the U.S. to create a "100 Good Wishes Quilt" for your adopted daughter. The tradition started in China where family and friends would give 2 swatches of fabric to the new baby. One to be used in a quilt and one to go in a memory book along with a "good wish" for the baby. Adoptive parents have started making these special quilts as a way to create some history for a child that may not have any known family background. This quilt may then be passed down for generations to come. We would love to make one for our daughter. Here is what to do if you would like to contribute to our quilt:
1. Pick out a fabric that you like or has special meaning to you and cut out 2 8" squares.
2. On a small piece of paper, write a "good wish" for our baby. Make sure to include your name on the wish.
3. Send it to us to be a part of her 100 Good Wishes Quilt!!!
We will show pictures of all the good wish squares we receive. Thank you in advance for helping to create something special and beautiful for our daughter!
We got this adorable fabric from the Connelly Family! The message on it reads, "Good Morning". Check out the strawberries!!! This pretty fabric is from our friends, Rick and Loretta! We love it! There was a wish for every color of the rainbow!
